Waist Training Challenge

 
Wow. Second post in a week; I'm doing good so far! My blogs are not only subject to fashion, but also hair, makeup, weight loss, positive self acceptance, etc. This specific post is about a 30 day challenge I am taking part of.  It is one of the HOTTEST weight loss trends out there right now. Celebrities such as Jessica Alba, BeyoncĂ©, and Deelishes (from the reality T.V. series Flavor of Love) have done this ... CORSET WAIST TRAINING. I heard about this challenge from an InstaGram user that I follow. Her I.G. name is @fat_girl_slimm, please follow her; she's awesome and such an inspiration! So far she has lost 80 pounds since December and is still going! She uploaded a picture of Day 1 vs. Day 3 of this challenge and you can totally see the difference in her back.  Amazing!!
 
How Does it Work?
 
Waist training also known as waist cinching or tight-lacing came to prominence in the Victorian era, but has made a comeback in recent years. Wearing a tight-laced corset (or a heavy latex vest), exercise, and eating a healthy diet can dramatically reduce the waist of both men and women. The compression of the vest or corset acts almost like a thermal, which causes your body to sweat a little. The more you're active, the more sweat you accumulate. Some people choose to exercise with it on, some do not. Maybe once I can actually bend over when wearing it I will start working out with it on LOL. The fat then mobilizes and redistributes to your bust, butt, and thighs. That is why you see celebrities like K. Michelle with the tiny waist and huge ass! HELLLOOOOOOO!!
 
When choosing a corset, you must measure your bust, waist, and hips in order to get the correct size. If you take a look, I inserted a size chart if you are interested in purchasing one!
So, you got your corset. You put it on. You feel like death because you can't breathe in it. LOL. What's next?  For the first day, wear the corset for about 2 hours to try to get use to it. I wore mine for about 14 hours, including the hours in which I went to bed. Drink at least 80 oz. of water. You MUST stay hydrated throughout the day. This is key to the whole process. As the days go on, increase the hourly wear, up to 8 hours. That seems like a lot, but it really isn't. If you work at a desk for 8 hours like myself, it is rather easy. If you work standing up and moving around all day ... hmm, a little more difficult, but at least you're being active. Another suggestion: Wear it when you go to bed!
 
I purchased mine a couple days ago from Amazon.com. The brand name of the heavy latex vest is called Vedette. It comes in black and beige, and was $52 including shipping and handling fees (I did expedited shipping so without that, it would have came to $45). I did not want to get the corset because the vest helps flatten out not only the midsection, but also the back fat and fupa lol (front pouch) that I have. I plan on wearing it ALL day everyday with little breaks of not wearing it in between. I like how my shirts fit, how I stand and sit up straight, my boobs look bigger, and it totally trains my abdominal muscles to stay pulled inward towards my belly button.
 
Next Thursday I will upload a picture of my progress so you guys can see what I'm working with here. My measurements are: 40" bust, 37" waist, 51" hips

Double Trouble

Oh heyyyyy! This lady is back in action!  Sorry I have been gone for SO long (again).  I will do my best to keep up with my blogging.  Thank you to all who have been reading them daily though!! Much love XOXO.

Anyways, back to business. First and foremost this summer has had MANY popular styles trending about.  I am here to talk about my absolute favorite one though - THE DOUBLE SLIT SKIRT! This bad boy screams sexy. The double slit use to be featured mostly on maxi dresses, but good ole Michael Kors proved that this style can be done on a maxi skirts as well as shorter ones on his S/S 2013 Runway debut. 

If you ladies want to get your sexy back, this style is the way to go! I'm telling you, heads will turn! F.Y.I You HAVE to be someone who is bold and likes to take risks to wear this trend! There are skirts that have short slits, then there are ones that have slits ALL the way up the thighs. I like my legs a lot so I don't mind showing them off ;-) Go with whatever you are most comfortable in wearing; either way you can make the whole outfit look stunning. WERK IT hunny!!


MY OOTN: Too bad I did not get an entire body shot of my outfit of the night, but I paired my coral double slit skirt with a white one piece bodysuit and white flat sandals.  As far as accessories goes, I went with neutral tones; gold and black drop earrings, with gold and white bracelets, and a couple gold rings. Gold eye shadow and a clear lip gloss finished my OOTN.

**For another casual wear look, pair the skirt with a crop top, or tank top. I love the H&M tank tops; they're very basic and can go with anything.  Throw on some flats or flip flops as well.

**For a more formal wear, put those classic platform pumps on.
